Privacy Policy

Your grades, essays and plans are personal. This page explains what AdmittedGPT collects, what we do with it, who else touches it, and how to see, export or delete it. Last updated September 30, 2026.

The short version

  • We collect what you give us to build your profile and give you advice: account details, grades, tests, activities, essays, the colleges you’re considering, and a transcript if you upload one.
  • We use it to run the product. We don’t sell it, we don’t share it with colleges, and we don’t use it for advertising.
  • Some of it is processed by other companies that help us run the service (listed below), including an AI provider that reads your essays, transcript and questions to write feedback.
  • You can export everything, or delete your account and all of your data, yourself, from Settings.

Who we are

AdmittedGPT (“we”, “us”) provides an online college-admissions guidance service at admittedgpt.com. If you have a question about this policy or your information, write to admittedgpt@gmail.com.

What we collect

What you give us.

  • Account: your name and email address, and a password. Passwords are handled by our sign-in provider and stored only as a one-way hash, so we can’t see them. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
  • Your profile: grade and graduation year, high school and location, GPA, class rank, courses and grades, SAT/ACT/AP results, activities, awards, work, service and athletics, your goals and the colleges you add.
  • Background (optional): whether you’re a first-generation college student or an international student, and, if you choose, a racial or ethnic background. These are optional and used only to match you with scholarships meant for that background. They are never used in your odds.
  • Your writing: essay drafts and the feedback on them, and your conversations with the AI counselor.
  • Transcripts: a PDF or photo, only if you upload one.
  • Messages to us: what you write in the contact form or in an email.

Payment. If you subscribe, Stripe collects your card details on its own page. We never see or store your card number. We keep your Stripe customer ID and your plan, its status and renewal date.

Automatically. Our hosting provider records standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site and keep it secure. We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking, and we don’t run third-party analytics.

How we use it

  • To create your account and keep your profile, colleges, essays and progress saved and available on your devices.
  • To calculate the estimates, plans and matches you see, from your information and public college data.
  • To generate essay feedback, counselor answers and a reading of your transcript (see “AI features” below).
  • To take payment, manage your subscription and send you receipts and account emails.
  • To answer your messages, fix problems, prevent abuse and keep the service secure.
  • To meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles.

AI features

Essay feedback, the counselor and transcript reading are powered by Claude, a model from Anthropic. When you use them, we send Anthropic only what’s needed for that request: the essay and its prompt, or your question with a summary of your profile (such as your first name, grade, state, grades, test scores, activities, awards and colleges), or the transcript file you uploaded. Anthropic processes it to produce the response. Under Anthropic’s commercial API terms, content sent this way is not used to train its models, and it may be kept for a limited time for safety and abuse prevention.

AI can be wrong. Treat what it says as guidance and check anything important yourself. We don’t use your essays or other content to train any AI model.

Who else handles your information

We use these companies to run AdmittedGPT. Each handles your information only to provide its service to us.

  • Supabase: sign-in, our database and private file storage.
  • Vercel: hosting the website.
  • Stripe: payments and billing.
  • Anthropic: the AI features described above.
  • Google: only if you choose “Continue with Google”.
  • Resend: delivering messages from our contact form.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect people’s safety or our rights, or as part of a merger or sale of the business (in which case this policy would continue to protect your information or you would be told first). We never give your records to colleges.

How we protect it, and how long we keep it

Everything travels over encrypted connections and is encrypted at rest by our providers. Each account can reach only its own data. Transcripts sit in a private bucket and open only through links that expire within minutes. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep yours safe.

We keep your information while your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, essays, files and login are removed right away and your subscription is canceled. Copies in encrypted backups are overwritten on our provider’s normal schedule, within about 30 days. Stripe keeps payment records as financial regulations require. A transcript you upload but don’t save to your profile is deleted.

Your choices and rights

  • See and export: Settings → Your data → Export downloads everything in your account.
  • Correct: edit your profile, courses and essays at any time.
  • Delete: Settings → Your data → Delete everything removes your account and data. You can also delete just your transcript in Academics.
  • Ask us: for anything else, email admittedgpt@gmail.com or use the contact form. We’ll respond within 30 days.

If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it’s used, to access and delete it, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. We don’t sell or share personal information for advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. We collect racial or ethnic background only if you choose to provide it, and use it only for scholarship matching. If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to object to or restrict processing and to complain to your data-protection authority. We process your information to provide the service you asked for (contract), to keep it secure and improve it (legitimate interests), and, for the optional background information above, with your consent, which you can withdraw by removing it from your profile.

Students and parents

AdmittedGPT is for high-school students aged 13 and older. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13, and we delete it if we learn we have. If you’re under 18, please use the service with a parent or guardian’s knowledge. A parent or guardian can ask to see or delete their child’s information by writing to admittedgpt@gmail.com. We’re not a school and don’t receive records from schools: everything here is provided by the student.

Cookies and local storage

We store only what the site needs to work: your sign-in, a saved copy of your data so the app opens quickly, and your display preferences such as light or dark mode. We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies.

Where information is processed

Our providers operate in the United States and other countries. If you use AdmittedGPT from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States and elsewhere, with the safeguards our providers put in place for such transfers.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll update the date above and tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
